E.ON starts electricity sales to professionals and families on the whole Italian territory

E.ON strengthens its presence in the gas compartment by launching the innovative "E.ON DoppioVantaggio"

The offer comprises a fidelity program "the less you spend, the more we reward you" promoting the reduction of energy consumption, a minimum environmental impact to obtain discounts.

E.ON is one of the main operators on the Italian market and one of the biggest private energy groups worldwide, the company enters electric energy trade on the retail market with a production capacity of over 7.500 MW of installed power. The European group proposes a combined electricity and gas offer for business and residential customers.

The E.ON Italia Market Unit, managed by CEO Klaus Schäfer, now presides over the value chain with its integrated presence in the Italian market and launches the new "E.ON DoppioVantaggio" offer for residential customers and small and medium sized companies.

This new offer - launched on 29 September 2008 - arrives in a complex energy scenario: the market is currently characterized by an increase in energy rates, non-stop geo-political tensions determined by the safety of supplies and an increasing level of attention towards environmental protection.
"E.ON DoppioVantaggio" resembles E.ON's philosophy of the supply of reliable, transparent and environmental-friendly energy,  featuring some innovative features.

This so-called "dual fuel" offer featuring the supply of electric energy and gas, offers a series of substantial advantages:

  • fixed energy rates for two years;
  • an energy bonus reaching 225 kWh for residential customers and up to 8.000 kWh for companies, in both cases the equivalent of one month of average consumption.

The bonus refers to the Energy Component (PE) representing approximately 65% of the overall electricity expenses (excluding VAT and taxes) for an average family with 2,700 kWh/year consumption and a 3 kW power installed at home.

  • a fidelity program awarding environmental-friendly performance "the less you spend, the more we award you".

E.ON is the sole company which transparently awards energy savings. The program gives prizes which can further help energy consumption reduction, like the backpack with photovoltaic battery and the "stand-by suppressor", a device turning all electric apparatuses definitely off, avoiding the stand-by phase.

E.ON DoppioVantaggio can also be activated at even more favorable conditions by Intesa Sanpaolo clients, one of the major European banks. This bank group reached an agreement which allows clients choosing E.ON - thanks to the Bonus Intesa Sanpaolo loyalty program - to benefit from a further 1% monthly discount on electricity and gas bills.

<<With our new offer we sell energy to residential customers for the first time, this is a product that wants to face the challenges and opportunities offered by the free market of energy in Italy>>, said Luca Dal Fabbro, President of E.ON Italia's Sales Division. <<With our electricity-gas combined offer our clients are three times more advantaged: they are stimulated to save energy, they receive a bonus and prizes for this efficiency, the same prices contribute to reducing energy expenses or stimulating further positive conducts>>.
