Liquefied natural Gas
Greater procurement security

Alongside traditional natural gas supply via pipeline, liquified natural gas transported on ships (LNG) will be of increasing importance in the years ahead. Its current share of about 10% in EU27 gas supplies is expected to rise to roughly 18 % by 2020. For this reason E.ON is systematically advancing its worldwide LNG activities. In Italy we are currently engaged in two LNG infrastructure projects. Apart from the OLT terminal off the Tuscany coast, we are planning an LNG regasification plant on Italy's Adriatic coast. If you include our currently planned LNG terminal at Krk in Croatia, Italy will become a key hub for LNG supplies in the Mediterranean region. Italian gas customers, too, will benefit from this.
