Klaus Schäfer

Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Chairman of the Board

Born in 1967, Klaus Schäfer studied business administration in Passau, Paris, Oxford and Berlin. 

He commenced his professional career with investment bank Morgan Stanley in London. 

In 1996 he shifted to VIAG AG in Munich, where he held various positions in the financial area. After the merger of VEBA and VIAG, Schäfer directed the Group's Strategy Department of E.ON AG in Düsseldorf.

In 2003 he returned to Munich as member of the Management Board of Thüga AG (CFO), becoming President of Thüga Italia at the same time.

Before accepting the position as E.ON Italia's CEO, he was CEO of E.ON Sales & Trading - one of Germany's leading energy trading and wholesale companies - from September 2006 to October 2007, acting additionally as the Company's Commercial Director.
