Responsibility

The globalization of the energy markets, the growing worldwide demand for energy, and its consequences on the climate, on prices, and on supply present new challenges to E.ON, ad not just at the company level. At the same time, new social requirements have been created, and expectations toward the energy economy are growing.
As a company, we take all this very seriously and wish to contribute actively to the solutions demanded by social and energy policy challenges. We have long been committed to providing answers to climate protection and energy efficiency to ensure a secure energy supply and responsible management of energy resources.
One example is our objective to halve our specific CO2 emissions by 2030 with respect to the 1990 values and to increase by 25% the contribution of renewable forms of energy. This is one of the most ambitious objectives in the energy sector. Another example is our contribution toward a more efficient use of energy by our customers and a more responsible use of energy and respect for the environment within the company's “Energy for Children” training project. With our renewed listing in the Dow Jones Sustainability Index (DJSI), we have also been confirmed for our responsible company policy.
Since for us social responsibility means above all interchange and training, we wish to have a frank dialogue with our interlocutors on the future procurement of energy, because for us responsibility begins with listening and open discussion.
