Miguel Antoñanzas Chairman and Chief Executive Officer |
Born in Santander in 1961, Miguel Antoñanzas is Chairman and CEO of E.ON Italia S.p.A and of E.ON España. He is graduated from university in Madrid in civil engineering and started his career in California, at Bechtel, a US engineering and construction company, where he was to hold several positions in the USA, the UK, Europe, and North Africa. From 2002 to 2008, he was Chairman and CEO of Enel Viesgo, as well as Chairman of Enel Unión Fenosa Renovables after having held a number of managerial positions, in particular at Iberdrola, where he was in charge of the company's international expansion in Latin America.
He is am member of the Health&Safety Council of E.ON AG.
In Italy, he is member of the Board of Assoelettrica (the energy industry association within Confindustria) and of the Steering Committee of IEFE Bocconi. In Spain, he is a member of the Board of UNESA (the energy industry’s association), the Spanish Club of Energy, the Music Academy Reina Sofia. He also chairs the board of the Hispanic-German Circle.
