Our advertising campaign talks about our commitment to significantly extend our energy production from renewable sources. Today, about 13% of E.ON’s total energy production is already generated from renewables. In the next three years alone we will invest 8 billion euro in additional production of this kind. And by 2030, we will have tripled the percentage of renewables in our energy mix. This shows our very strong commitment to renewable energy. We think that towards the end of this century it will be able to totally replace other sources of energy. But in the meantime, before we reach this new age, we have to make sure that energy stays climate-friendly, secure, and affordable. For Europe and the world, in the decades ahead there is no alternative to maintaining an energy mix as broad as possible, using every source of energy available, including gas, coal, and nuclear. Therefore, while systematically increasing the percentage of renewables in our E.ON energy mix, at the same time we are investing in new zero-carbon coal technologies, new gas infrastructure, and safe nuclear energy. By doing this, we will achieve the utmost climate protection for the decades ahead, without sacrificing a secure and affordable energy supply.
